Dove Season 2009
So the boys (minus Jo-Jo... next year for him) went a'hunting! We are still throughly enjoying our lease out in west Texas. And this was David's first year partaking in dove season there.

Take'em hunting so you don't have to hunt them...November 24-26, 2008
Well, Joshy's finally old enough to go hunting with David. He was getting a little anxious about going hunting and making a kill. And he was worried that he wouldn't be able to sit still in the blind. But he was such a trooper! He did great!

Our lease has been such a great get-a-way for David. He was pretty excited too getting to take Josh out for his first time. They did "deer camp" things the whole time! Josh could stay up as late as he wanted, eat whatever he wanted... such fun for a 5 1/2 year old.
They forgot to take our camera so they bought a disposable one (which I don't think we'll do again.) They got some pictures, but they didn't turn out that great.
On the last day of their trip, they were sitting in the blind and a beautiful 8 point buck came up. He was a young one, but absolutely beautiful. Joshy whispered to David, "Get that one, Daddy!" so David drew up his rifle, Joshy squeezed his eyes shut and closed his ears and they got it! Here are some pictures from the trip!

This last shot was when they were hunting in the blind, and poor Josh fell asleep!! So sweet!

David was so proud of his big boy for not freaking out about seeing all the blood and gunk... and then when they took the deer to the processor, the man let Joshy control the contraption to lift the deer up. When all the blood started pouring out, Joshy said, "I'm out!" and he was done dealing with yucky stuff!
They had such a great time and Josh can't wait to go hunting with his Daddy again!
